I'm at 140's - goal of 135 (currently) Considering at the start of this blog I was over 180, this is a big deal. I was at 180 again about a year ago, then lost 20 for my daughters wedding and gained 10 back... I felt and looked fat at 170 in my party dress and in the photos.
I was still at 170 about 5 months ago when my husband who had hit 190 decided it was time for both of us to finally loose the fat - together- and work together to keep it off.
He bought a book... quick meals for south beach diet. A book. We did not study the diet, or really know the basics - we just made the food from the book, let the meal plans give us ideas of how and what to eat. So in 5 months WITHOUT working out, I lost 30 and Ben lost 50!!! (men) I am now working out with my sis and I hope with that and continuing the diet, I can reach my goal (or beyond) by Christmas.
So the secret:
Eat low fat or fat free food
Eat a good balance of meats and veggies
No bread, cereal, rice... starches in general
Don't eat empty calories (ok wine once in a while)
Eat sweets (like in the meal plan) - after dinner - Chocolate pudding made from Silky tofu, sugar substitute (I LOVE TRUVIA) and cocoa powder ,,,, there are LOTS of recipes for sweets
Just no SUGAR.
Yes we drink diet sodas and diet snapple tea (love them) and we add sugar substitute to our coffee tea if we want..
But the real secret:
DONT DIET ALONE
